As college students who wanted to gain hands-on experience in the advertising industry, we all came in to our first day at Trone Brand Energy nervous and excited about what our summer internship would hold. What would we be doing? Would we meet new people and learn new things? Or would we simply get coffee and sit in a cubicle bored all day?

The battle for pet pharmaceutical sales has grown to a point where brick-and-mortar retailers and Internet/mail order retailers accounted for a combined 42% of the nearly $8 billion in national pet medication sales in 2014 according to a report by the market research firm, Packaged Facts. The same report forecasts that pet pharmaceuticals will be one of the highest growth areas of pet retailing over the next 10 years due to increased over-the-counter drugs and interest by chain retailers.

Content is arguably the most important thing on your website. In fact, it’s the main reason you have a website. If you are like most companies, you have a website to provide either content or functionality to your audience. For example, if you are a company that provides healthcare services, the main goals of your website are likely to communicate services to potential clients and provide some functionality for existing clients to do things like pay bills. However, even functionality requires content to help the user understand what they can do on your website and how to do it.

Add another aspect to your role: social. The new job of telecommunications marketers is to make customers feel not only good, but smart and heard. When asked if telecom providers use social media in an effective way to engage them, only five percent of customers strongly agreed while twenty percent moderately agreed. It is a little ironic that the very distributors of connectivity are the ones missing the opportunity to socially engage with their customers.
